How To Measure
Ensuring a proper fit for your blinds is crucial, as all our blinds are tailored to the provided measurements. It is important to measure accurately, considering factors such as the desired finish (reveal or face fix) and potential obstructions like door handles, skirtings, or halfway wall tiling.
When ordering blinds with either ‘reveal fix’ or ‘face fix’ installation, you have two options. You can provide us with the recess size, and we will make the necessary deductions or add-ons for ‘face fix.’ Alternatively, you can specify the exact finished size you require. Please be clear about your preferences when placing the order.
To assist you in measuring correctly, we have provided a guide below. If you are uncertain, feel free to contact us for a complimentary measuring service, with no obligations.
Reveal Fix
This allows for the blind to be fitted inside the window recess, gives the neatest finish and is the most popular way of fitting blinds. You should provide us with the exact measurements of the opening, we will then automatically subtract 5mm per side (both left and right) in the factory for easy clearance of the blind.
Reveal Fix with Cut Out
Often in bathrooms or kitchens there is tiling halfway up the wall. In this case, you have to measure the window recess as well as the tiles that are in the way in order to do a cut out for these. The same process is followed for dado rails that protrude into the recess and also in the case of doors where skirtings at the bottom may end up being in the way of the blind.
FaceFix
This fixing method allows for the blind to be fitted outside the window recess, on the face of the wall. It is usually used when the window recess has been taken up by burglar bars or in the absence of an adequate window recess. It is also used in the case of doors to allow for more walk-through height when the blind is in the ‘pulled-up’ position.
